Re: Flexalite electric fans for 99 & newer trucks.
Well, I started the fan install today and removed the stock fan and clutch assembly. I proceed to drop in the electric fans and low and behold it doesn't fit. Do the 1/2 tons come with a 32" or something smaller? I only have 28 inches of core/fin area. It looks like my only other choice at this point is to install a 34" radiator. Here are a few questions.
1. Are the 34" radiators from the Sub/Tahoe/Yukon?
2. Does this larger radiator just "drop" into place where the existing radiator was and use the existing mounting locations?
3. Where do I get a new 34" radiator?
Parish8, you said you got 34" radiator? Thanks for any help.

I just got my 34" radiator from www.radiatorbarn.com .(thanks parish8 ) They have excellent service and great prices for brand new radiators. Much better than any dealership I've checked. They even come with the little quick disconnect tool and some new fittings.
I just ordered one for a '00 2500HD pickup truck with the 6.0L. I measured the core and it's just slightly bigger than 34".

Thanks John, I just checked there and that's where I'm going to order the radiator from. I imagine when I order I should make all the selections match my vehicle like the year and stuff except get the 6.0L radiator?

lol, after all that you still didn't get that you needed a larger radiator , yes they prety much just drop in, the only thing i did was trim down the rubber flaps on each side of the radiator to fit a little better.

When I ordered mine I put in Sierra 2500 instead of 1500 and selected the 6.0L motor instead of the 5.3L.
Make sure you put in a 2500 model because the 1500 series pickups don't come with the big radiators unless it's the 1500HD model. Just put in 2500 to be safe.

John, thanks for the info, I'll use it when I place my order.

Re: Flexalite electric fans for 99 & newer trucks.
The Perma Cool fans are $620 for a dual 14" fan setup that fits the 28.5" core.
The new 34" radiator and flexalites cost about the same together(maybe just a little more) but, you end up with a bigger radiator and dual 15" fans.
Has anyone went the Perma Cool route? I think they just came out not too long ago.
