i am not a fan of these sorry *** single in dual out systems. either go true duals or dont bother in my opinion.

here's a test i did on my own ride...the cuda. this was w/ my old motor, a 12:1 hydraulic cammed iron headed 440. ran 11.40s at 117 mph on the motor.
it had a pair of 1 7/8" primary hooker headers, full 3" exhaust system (w/ crimped bends by my exhaust guy, not mandrel bends that everyone thinks is mandatory) w/ a pair of old style 40 series 2 chamber flowmasters. this was through full tailpipes, factory exhaust tips, etc. it ran the exact same ETs and MPH through the full exhaust system as it did w/ open headers...and i did rejet the carb to try and tune it in, no difference. same night back to back test at the track.

this system was not a restriction until i put the current motor in making roughly 100 more hp and turning another 600 rpm. so i upgraded to a 4" system w/ Flowmaster top 10 race 2 chambers. guess what? no restriction.

maybe i just keep getting ahold to superduper hi performance flowmasters that arent avaliable to anyone else?

those old original 3" 40 series flowmasters are now on my truck CHIP

I GUESS YOU AER RIGHT CAUSE I HAVE NEVER SEEN A VEHICLE RUN THE SAME WITH MUFFLERS OUT THE BACK WITH THE NO CHANGE TO OPEN HEADERS IS HARD TO BELIVE

I love my Flowmasters...I really don't care if they make more/less HP than something else, you can't beat the sound. If I want an extra 4000hp I'll get cutouts.

I wouldn't consider your test very conclusive.

almost everyone sees gains by adding a 12-18" extension to their open LT's, but you didn't try that, so "open headers" may not be the hottest setup possible.

if you had tried another performance muffler, then you'd have something to compare the flowmasters to, but you didn't, so all you have is evidence from two less than ideal combinations.

I run a spintech ss 3in 3 out. Get compliments on its sound all the time. Very well made out of thick stuff. I would definately buy it again.

I have a 3" Center In/Center Out Hooker AeroChamber......It is a straight through muffler. I didn't realize it was until after I got it, when I opened the box and was able to see straight through the muffler I was like this will be loud as fk and I could already hear my wife bitching. Much to my surprise it sound great, no drone at cruising speeds and sounds awesome at WOT. In my opinion it is the best muffler for the price.
