Flowmaster Exhaust Dumped?
Just wondering if anyone would suggest to do what I am thinking about doing. I am thining about buying a Flowmaster Super 40 and replacing my stock muffler and mounting that inplace of it. Maybe dump it or maybe just let the exhaust flow straight out of the outlet of the muffler. Or I was thinkin of runnin dual mufflers and then dumpin it before the rear axle. Any suggestions on what I should do?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Don't know from experience but I've heard several trucks with the Original 40's and turndowns and it really rumbles. They said it resonates more in the cab though than if you take the pipes all the way back. I'm actually probably gonna do this on my truck though, as it's a 30 series and not quite loud enough or have much of a rumble to it for my tastes, but I can't afford a new exhaust system right now.

I had the super40 on before, but it was to quiet, I have a 2 chamber 40series on now with dual 4inch turn downs, it is really deep. It was 190 installed. I think the 4inch chrome tips cost more then the muffler itself.

I have the 40 series with the 3" turndown right at the muffler exit. It isn't too loud at idle, but when you get on it you notice. It does resonate in the cab, especially at 1,200 RPM and 40-45 MPH. My wife says she hates when we have to drive at that speed because it rattles her eardrums.

You guys must be deaf! Wait until you get older. I can't take the noisy exhaust any more.

i have my 40 ser. set up in place of the stock muffler. the exaust is comming straight out of the muffler. it has a nice rummble on start up, then quiet's down a little. sounds real good on the hwy turning 2200 to 2400. it really turns on when your hammered down all the way up to 6200 but i'm just tired of the old flowmaster sound of a tin can. i'm putting on an aero chamber when i get home. i love the way they sound and perform. just my $.02

bluecajun5.3 are you running 1 or 2 mufflers?
Just wondering you are just running 1 muffler or 2. I have heard from someone else that running 2 is louder and sounds better than just one.

Could you guys give me a part# muffler!
Just wondering you if guys could let me know what part# you are talking about with your 40 Series Muffler. There are the American Thunder and the Delta FLow, wasn't sure which one you were running. I know that I do want to 2-Chambered and the Louder one.
Thanks!

i had a single 2 1/4" 40 series dumped before axle was to quiet went to true duals with 2 2.5" super 40's very loud awsome sound dunno aboot power gains or not but sound alone is worth it i get compliments everywhere i go i have no dumps after my super 40's some interior resonation but flowmaster claims the super 40 has less then the 40 but its a much deeper sound
