The people on here are giving blanket statements that one brand outflows another. I don't get paid anything by Flowmaster and none of my current vehicles have them, but I have to call into question the ignorance of those trying to give sage advice with nothing to back it up.

Why would I list a comparison between flows and a competitor's brand on a 420 RWHP car when we're talking about a truck? Not knowing the OP's budget, goals, build plans, etc I merely stated that you can find examples of people laying down good numbers with LS engines using Flows.

Maybe we could dig up a comparison with another brand but that would be rehashing the controlled test environment problem and lead us back to not knowing which model out of every manufacturer is top dog FOR THAT CAR.

I'm very calm as I'm winding down for bed, I merely hate seeing ignorance passed around as fact or people spouting whatever they've read off the internet.

By the way vicious, my wife is from Oklahoma. Nice people. Too bad her College football team got spanked and we had to watch it.
you got it man tomorro i'm puting 8 flowmasters on my truck to see if i can get in the 9.5sec range lol

People are jackasses There's a comparison chart floating around that compares a brand name's random muffler....it shows CFM and sound decibel. Well that became the muffler bible for the internet.

I don't. I hate the way Flowmasters sound. I'd rather have straight pipes with 24" long 4" tips; and that sounds like *******. Preferences aside though; gaining performance on ls-based engines by changing mufflers is minimal anyway so just get what you think sounds the best. That is why I'm running old school chambered mufflers GMMG style.

i bet the difference between a flowmaster and a straight through muffler, like a magnaflow, is 4rwhp. big deal. if you like the sound of flowmaster, then run it.

I think that it's all personal preference, running one muffler compared to another setup the same way will net little to no gains. It's all in the way you want it to sound

exactly, guys make it seem like you lose 15 hp by running flows. no matter what muffler you like there's less than 5 hp difference, which is not that big a deal to most people. go w/ what your ears like!!
