Default flowmaster question

This is not what I would have recommended,My dad just had installed a 50 series, single in dual out the sides behind the tires flowmaster,I told him he could be loosing power and resonence was going to be something else at low speed and low RPM.He's only driven it from the muffler shop to home,of course he said it's quiet at 50mph cruise, the old fart wouldnt listen, what do you guys think? it's got to be loud as hell inside the 03 xcab 5.3

Probably is loud, but most people who install flomaster mufflers want that flowmaster sound. He will either love hearing his truck, or will get tired of the drone.

It might not be too bad. My Flows resonated nasty. Plus my low-end went down the *******. Buddy of mine has Flow 50's on his x-cab Rado and I can barely hear it!

I have a single in dual out 40 on my truck with no cats. It is freaking loud. Glad it is not my everyday driver. If it was I would look for something quiet. The resonance is horrible but I do love the flowmaster sound. I do not recommend flowmaster for an everyday driver. My Dad also put a 50 on his 2000 and has some drone but he likes it.

I have the 50 delta flow flowmaster, single in and out and it's not too loud, had the same thing on my 95 305 and same effect, although that sounded a little lopier as it was a single in dual out. It get's louder with time, but now screaming loud for sure.

You know how these old timers are, hell I got him off glass packs back in the early mid 80s and got him on flows when they were they new comer.I was done with flows in the late 90's,there has been many proving power loss in these newer trucks. My dad had been using my old catback which was an original powervault and magnaflow that was a dualcore single/single ,sucker made power and very little RES. with the dual core. The magnaflow was getting tired and thats why he went to the new muffler and dual out,he wasnt going to ever be happy with the single 3" out(some have to have dual out).So I think he may feel the power loss, more so when towing.

mine gets some resonance at about 60-65 which I seldom drive unless the speed limit is 55 or maybe 60. I have a 40 series SI/DO dumped after the axle. I might slap a magnaflow or bullet on later down the road if I decide to keep this one for a while. It will be hard to keep this 4.8 when I could get a vho.

I've got the dual in dual out 50 series (three chamber) and I like it alot, as far as power I don't think it helped low end much but top end opened up some and I like the way it sounds all around. I can barely hear it at idle inside the cab and at highway cruising speeds I don't notice it being overly loud. Under normal driving it sounds fairly quiet but I can rev it and it rumbles pretty good. Might have to go for a drive with somebody that has magnaflows though so I can find out why everyone here likes em so much. I've got cats too btw
