Thx Ryan

I am glad to see you run a lil on the safe side also. I was a lil worrid being this rich but worst I can do is wash down the rings a bit. Better than a hole in the piston. LOL

Looks like I may get one. Not sure I like cutting on the frame though. Do you know what your frame width was before you started cutting? Just wondering if it's the same. I'm sure it probably is. The SS valance has a opening that would be perfect for it. Add a little ducting to better help flow through it and I would be set.

There was no structure problem in cutting that part of the frame due to the fact that it was after the main front end portion. This portion only held on the bumper piece. So to use, it wasnt that bad for us to cut it. MY car was worse considering I have a T/A and I basicly cut out the full bumper support. But all in the name of more power I guess.

Hey Ben,

Do you thiink you could maybe wait awhile before putting the turbo kit on your truck. Umm I mean maybe till like after Oct. 31 if I had to pick a date?

Then I just have to sabotage Erik somehow and I think I'm set!

Like Rick said. That part of the frame only holds the bumper on and we still had alot of metal left on there. Only problem is in the even of a front end collision the frame at that point will prbably collapse but there is still solid framework behind it so if I hit something that hard I'll have other things to worry about. LOL I don't know the actual width but you can easily go measure yours just to check. The top of the intercooler was 25.5" I believe and it slowly gets larger from there. Get your measurements and I'll try and get you some firm #s on how far mine is mounted up into the frame and the width needed there if you like.

Congrats on getting the intercooler installed. Wish you had run the truck at the track before the intercooler to do a before and after comparison. Are you going to put it on the dyno to get some new #s.

LOL, I take that as a decided NO huh Ben? Hahahaha

Quicksilverado, I did run it at the track before the IC but the DA was so crappy and coupled with all the lag form the bigger turbo, exhaust leak and no real tuning on the meth I ran a stellar 13.55@101 2.0 60'. The stupid truck wouldn't even build real boost until well beyond the 60' marker even if I launched on 5psi. Then half way down the 1/4mile the truck would truggle against all the meth that was being dumped in so I kinda just gave up. I ran it once when it was still 100deg out with a DA of 2696ft on 6psi and ran a whopping 14.4@95.7mph with no methanol and 160deg IATs Hahaha

Sad thing was I still beat a 00' Lightning with TB, chip, intake, exhaust (13.9@97mph), a 89' LX Mustang with heads/intake slicks etc. and had all kinds of people tripping out over the "hella fast blue 4x4" that runs mid 13s.... I was stoked about that but disapointed because I knew I should be in the 12s with this thing but bad combo and no tuning = horrible ET and MPH.

Those time are pretty good even though you expected more. I'm watching you progress closely. I've got a 01 5.7 ls1 going in the truck with the STS kit. Probably won't happen until around the end of the year.

Very nice results F8L!

Does anyone know if STS has any plans to release a FMIC version of their kit?

Dave said there is talk of offering an FMIC upgrade for those who want to up the boost and not mess with methanol or for those doing heavy duty towing.
