Forced induction?
I have a 02 silverado with a 5.3l and within a very short time i plan on buying a ati procharger. is this the way to go or is there a better set up for a silverado, maybe even a turbo, but i want to stay street legal and i live in cali, what gains would i expect to see?

The Procharger is a good setup for a highly modified truck.A Radix Magnacharger or a STS Turbo setup is probably a better setup for the street. The Procharger is RPM dependent for making boost, whereas the Radix or STS setup makes boost down at lower engine rpms.On a mildly modified engine both the Radix or STS will out perform the Procharger setup. The Radix is also emission legal in California.

For street legal in Cali, I'd say go Radix all the way. Pound for pound of boost the radix will be faster and funner to drive than the procharger. I don't know if the turbo kits are carb legal or whatever. I think the radix is.
