Found an Lq9 for $650
Alright so I found an Lq9 for $650. Here is the discription:
"lq9 motor has 100k on it. long block. have intake and accessories for 200 more. priced is obo. wrecked the truck so selling this. its the 6.0 and has the 317 heads on it. email for questions"
What do you guys think? I guess I just need someone to talk me into getting this thing. I guess I could always re-sell it if I didnt use it..

Was it a Front collision?
Was it overheated?
Check carefully for cracks, etc. Take your flashlight.
Pull a plug and rotate the piston around. Make sure it's a flat top. If it's dished, its a low compression LQ4.
I never buy an engine that's been in a front collision.
(Seen cracked blocks, core shifts, peeled heads, etc etc)
Will he give you any guarantee that it's not cracked?
You don't want to buy a "Pig and a poke"
When you get it home, plug the ports and power-wash it down with hot water immediately.
Re-inspect carefully.
(To put it in perspective, I bought mine with 73K and a 1 year warranty for $1300 top to bottom)

Yeah it's from Texas.
Thanks for all the pointers. I'll make sure and check all that out. I doubt there will be any kind if garuantee or warranty, but I'll ask. I'm still waiting on a response and some pictures.
