Were are you guys going to suck up all this water up. I pulled mine off a few weeks ago because you all had me worried. There wasn't a drop of water in it and i'm running 8-9 psi.

From what I can tell no. BUT it happened to me and a couple others so I ain't taking the chance again. I'm gonna make my own snorkle kit and route the intake tube higher into the fender well to keep it away from water. Then durring the winter I'll run the "sock" simple as that. Come race days I'll just put a filter on the end of the turbo like it is stock so minimize any loss from my snorkle. Pretty easy and stress free.

very well said...relocate the filter up behind the finder well and you wont have any problems...

I have sucked up water two times now. Threw MAF codes both times. The first time I sucked up water to the maf, I was boosting at maybe 2 pounds in heavy rain.... The motor still runs fine with no issues, so I think I might have lucked out.

The second time, I was in a monsoon on the freeway for 10-15 mins and threw a code, still, when I was far from boosting the whole time. The FMIC had a ton of water sitting in the bottom of it.

I have come to the simple conclusion that the filter location on the STS is by far the worst idea EVER. I have thought about relocating it, but I think that I might stick an airbox in the bed side and mount a bracket to the frame. That way it'll keep all the crap off the filter itself.

Damn Chris that sucks

Are you running with the "sock" onit in the rain? You gotta "bag" it before you go play in the wet bro. :p

I have that snorkle kit from STS man. I would just give you my STS snorkle kit but I don't think it will work well for high HP applications.

I hav't done it yet bro. I am thinking that a huge tube that is bigger than the actual opening of the turbo would keep you from restricting the intake too much. Kinda like how the Mustang guys used Anderson Power pipes for the intake on their supercharged Mustangs. If anyone remembers that. LOL
