Richard,

Sent ya a pm about your problem, it definitely sucks and I will give Moser a call tomorrow to see what their insight is on this. Allan wants to have a look at the gears once you get them out, we will help get you compensated if in fact it was a gear defect. Its hard to say since we did not install the gears but normally a problem of this sort is caused in the install but definitely wouldnt rule out part defect.

There are only a couple of gear makers out there, Moser doesnt make their own gear they use US gears, at least that is the latest update I had.

There could have been a mistake made by the installer everyone makes mistakes but the same guys installed the gears on my truck 2 months ago and they are I have noe problems. Anyone can make mistakes but I cant imagine how many gear installs Brad has done. On another note when I was doing my gear swap I read many post were people recieved bad gears from the mfg/retailer so its not a rare thing. And that is plenty of time to break in the gears Richard especially if you plan on driving around Friday night and Staurday morning. The guy at Strange told me just dont go over 50mph and do 5-6 geat cyles letting them sit at least an hour between. Good luck buddy! We are all going to RRR tonite if you want to come out and at least watch! Let me know if you want to ride with me!

Okay, first post...
Hi all, I actually work for Motive Gear and have set up quite a few rears. My opinion would be either improper break in or not enough back lash, which would be improper set up. You initially have to get a few heat cycles in them on the rack or just driving short distances, them let them sit for a good while- maybe an hour or so. If you do that 3-4 times that makes you road worthy. After that you shouldn't tow or haul, or go to the track for a couple of hundred miles. The main problem is a new gear set with new bearings will generate a lot of heat initially, some people will go as far as to change their diff fluid after the first 1000 miles. Track only vehicles don't really have these kind of problems because they put very few total miles on them, and they are driven only short distances. Plus they are usually broken in correctly. A pro series gear is actually designed softer so they dont crack or break off teeth, they are actually designed to deflect some.

Update...

Talked with Moser today and they said these gears were made by US gear and they will want to take a look at them. We are sending a call tag to Richard for the gears and we will send them off to US gear for inspection.
Did you get your new ones put in?

Thanks
