Default found the problem....not good

Well I found out that the #6 piston exploded and broke the rod in half. I have pics that I will show later. Half my pushrods were bent. I am getting a 6.0 from a guy in california. I am putting forged pistons for boost. I am also getting arp rod bolts. I don't know if I should forged rods, what do you guys think? I am running the procharger with standard boost. I also have a cam...220/220,566/566 120. If I put this in my truck, will it run till I can get it down the road to get it dyno tuned? I have ls1 edit but I am not very good with it. Any info would help.

Sorry about the bad luck, but at least you'll be happy with the new motor.

Are you sure that cam is a 120 LSA? If so, thats too high. I have a 218/218 .563 114 cam for my 6 liter.

Thats what the spec sheets say. I got it from lingenfelter. A guy ordered for a tt corvette but decided he did not need it. I will get in touch with them and see if that is correct. I thought the same thing when I got it. Do you think the stock rods with arp rod bolts would be enough. I dont want to tear the engine apart again.

How long have you had the procharger on?
I have just ordered the D-1SC. I have a 6.0 and a comp 212/218 cam. Did your motor last at least 12,000 miles? Did you run stock timing? Thank you for the info.
I would go with some forged rods also. My 6.0 started right up with the 5.3 program and had no problems. Of course, I would get the tune as soon as possible.

OK - this is for a procharger? Well, the 120 LSa is still big, but better for for boost than NA. I think a single pattern like that is better for NA than boost. Typically, you see traditional split patterns with boost. You might have better results from an 02 LS6 cam. It has a high LSA, but still has a traditional split. Did lingenfelter recommend this cam, or did you buy it from their ebay auctions or something?

With the 120 LSA, it should run just fine. Worst case, you'll want to increase your idle rpm some with LS1 edit.

Actually my motor lasted 3 days after I put the supercharger on it. It was my fault though. I got in a hurry and ran out of time putting the system on my truck. I did not put the inline fuel pump on with the supercharger, I was going to wait till the weekend when I had more time. Stupid on my part. Anyway I got the p1sc, the d1sc should be really impressive. When my truck was running it was fast as hell. Yes Bigtex I got the cam from one of the ebay auctions. It has been sitting around for a while and was just wondering if I can use it. Thanks for the info.

GMC Ski, how long have you had the procharger on your truck? Do you like it? Hard install? I will purchase some 42 injectors for my pick'em up.
