I descreened my MAF as well but ended up putting it back in; its just not worth the risk of screwing something up and I didn't gain anything anyway. Most cheap or free mods aren't really beneficial anyway. The best mods you can do for cheap is a free-flowing muffler and an intake IMO.

ahh i see well then that makes sense, it will be far cheaper for me to get it reflashed than buying a new/used MAF. thanks for the info

in my situation, it made me go dangerously lean at wot, tuning took care of that, as far things getting whacky during part throttle, tuning also takes care of that, maybe it became a restriction on my setup, i dont know but this is only my experience.

descreen maf for over 50k on the silverado, 40k on the old s10 and not once did i have an issue. im thinking from pple removing they are actually damaging it.

i was just thinkin that due to the different style of air flow without a screen i would have my tuners take a look at it and my fuel mixture because it seems rich to me

look at this way if it was such a bad thing to do then why is it done from the factory on vehicles? it gets damage when ppl mess up the actually wires inside or something comes in contact with the wires. like stated i know of my rides and a few others that this was done on and all run good and no issues

there are just plenty of people that have problems with it. makes seem like a hit or miss kinda mod.
