I had the same thing going on with Patriot dual springs. I checked the rocker torque about 5 times before I quit being paranoid. I know you don't have the same springs as I do though...

I have the same cam and springs, it's normal. I can't hear it when driving, but when I pop the hood and it's running it's a sewing machine.

i appreciate all the response guys... i didnt think that setting the valve lash was reall possible on these gen iii's..... i used to set them like that on my old nova, but it was a flat tappet cam with adjustable rockers and poly/locks...

i guess i will just have to live with it.. i have put quite a few miles on it since the cam, maybe 10K or so, it still sounds the same... i was just hoping there might be an easy fix... like spitting on it or something... that usually works with everything else.

it was such a pain in my *** changing those springs, i will just leave em alone..

i wonder if i threw some fabric in there, would it sew it up for me??

Your right you can't adjust valve-lash... you can just change the preload by either using shims or different PR lengths

also a note when shimming or changing the PR length, be sure to check the swipe the rocker leaves on the valve tip falls in the center as much as you can.

I am running the same cam in a Whippled 4.8.It sounds basically stock other than a little lope. The only difference in our set up(as far as valvetrain is concerned) is I have stock pushrods.

just get a loader exhaust or a cutout and you wont hear the sewing machine sound...

JK anyway I would think with the ls6 springs you woule still be quite, I bet Gator is right you need longer PR.
