carbs are for lawnmowers but i can see why you want to swap with that poor design EFI in the early 90s on the trucks

Those thing are all mechanically controlled fuel injected. How else do you dump more then a cup of fuel in to each cylinder per-stoke

In the defense for the TBI, you can make some stout engines with one but they do have there limitations. A couple of guys on the www.fullsizechevy.com/forums are making between 280-320 rwhp with the TBI. However, thats with some modification as well but still not bad. If its on a stock engine, the TBI is just fine....you can spend about $700 dollars and make 40 hp n/a.

However, I agree...to make big power on a modified engine...you need MPFI or carb.

jegs has a bigger tbi throttle body but i just want to go the carburated we r going for a little over 400 with the pro charger and heads

No, a carb uses a venturi affect of air passing though a smaller space and then into a larger space to "suck" fuel out of the float bowl and into the intake. All the fuel pump does is fill the float bowl. The jets determine how much fuel is allowed to flow into the intake stream for the amount of air passing though the venturi. It is not pumped and squirted like in an injection setup.
