Fuel Pressure Question
Ok first things first. truck is a 2001 chevy 1/2 ton with the 5.3. 4x4 and has 60 thousand miles on it. Problem was injectors cloggin every few thousand miles. customer is rich so he decided to clean house with the fuel system.
1. removed injectors and sent to be cleaned
2. got new fuel rails
3. new fuel lines. from the f.uel rails to the tank. and if anyone has to change these. sell the damn truck b4 you attempt this. it was a nightmare
4. changed filter of course
5 dropped tank changed out whole pump and filter assembly just for good measure.
6. steamed out entire tank.
ok now i put everything back together and the bitch runs like ****. I have to cycle the 2 second primer a few times before she will crank and once it does crank it idles fine. however, when i give it gas it stumbles and is slow to rev. im thinking its a fuel pressure problem but i wont be able to check it untill tomorrow. what is the correct fuel pressure for a stock 5.3 and does anyone have a suggestion as to a cause. I have no leeks anywhere and i know the pump is running. Im thinking it could be the regulator possibly. Gimme some feedback. thanks

Re: Fuel Pressure Question
i am prety sure with the vacume line to the regulator unhooked the fuel presure should be around 58psi. with it hooked up and idling it will be less but i cant remember exactly where, something like 50psi but not sure.
definately need to check that presure before you do anything else.
