Default Fuel Pressure Regulator

Hey guys I have a 2000 Silverado and I am going to put on a Whipple but instead of using the included computer I was wondering if i could use a fuel pressure regulator and turn up the fuel pressure??? Of course I am going to use LS1 Edit to tune for timing a detenation. Let me know what you guys think..... Appreciate any commentary!

I think this has been done but i'm not to clear as to the results...I know injector upgrades and harness modifications were made. You may want to PM Big Tex (Richard)

I wouldn't suggest turning up the fuel pressure to get those results. I did an injector swap to allow more fuel and LS1 edit for tuning. The whipple computer senses WOT and throws in extra fuel in the upper RPMs so you won't go lean. Problem is, the stock PCM doesn't know that the extra fuel is there, so it is still trying to add the required amount of fuel via the stock injectors, basically maxing them out. That makes it hard to tune with LS1 edit. The truck will run great with out the whipple computer, and as long as you get larger injectors (I used SVO 30s), your stock fuel pump and pressure will work just fine.

- let me know if you need any help w/ the install. I have had mine on and off enough times to do it blindfolded.
