Digging up an old thread...

Can someone tell me how to replace the fuel regulator on a 01 1500 sierra. 4.8l ext cab, short bed, 2 wd.

snap ring pliers and some common sense will get ya there! Pretty simple if you have the tool to get the snap ring out....when you install the new one, please be sure to lube the o-rings up well!

Oh yeah, and be sure to get the old o-rings out!!!

thank you...but I left the most important part of the question out. Where exactly is the regulator? Sorry about this.

Driver side fuel rail....kinda goldish in color.

When should the regulator be changed and where are you guys getting them from??

Replace it when it goes bad. If you remove the vacuum line to it and there's fuel there, it's leaking and must be replaced. I got mine from the dealer, you could try GMpartsdirect.com

My friend, who works for nissan, got mine from a chevy dealership at his price. I paid $48.xx for mine compared to $63.xx if I would've gotten it from the dealer directly.
