There should only be 1 line going to it, right on top of it. The fp reg is the round part in the center of the driver's side fuel rail with 1 vacuum line going to it. I believe they stopped using external fp regs in 04.

My truck has trouble starting sometimes. It will start, idle, then die. Mostly when it's hot. Also, when I turn the a/c on the motor surges, like it's idleing then I give it gas(but I really don't), then idling again. All started after the cam install.

Would this qualify as a bad fp reg or it just needs more tuning?

The a/c problem sounds like a tuning or IAC issue. The hot start problem could be either...it's real easy to check the fp reg to eliminate that as a possibility. Pop the hose and check for fuel...you may have to check a few times due to evaporation. When I originally checked mine cold and it was OK, later I took a ride, went to a store and rechecked on the way out and found gas in there.

So drive it, stop, cut it off, and if there's fuel in there, it's bad?

I'll have to check it when it gets back from the body shop .

I would drive it, let it sit for about 5 minutes then check. If it's still dry, then you're probably OK. FP regs leaking on these seem to be fairly common, mine went bad at about 38k (was about 5 years old though), and I remember a bunch of folks at GMTrucks.com were finding thiers leaking a while back.

A dirty throttle body/IAC passage will give you hard start and idle issues also, but mostly when the vehicle is cold.
