Default Fuel pump nightmare

ok, so as some of you know, i am having some fuel pump issues. It started on christmas. The inline pump started screaming at me and the fuel pressure was all over the place. I figured i had some junk in the filter so i changed it and the problem seemed to go away. Then it happened again a few days ago. This time i realized that it was actually my in tank pump that had failled and the inline pump was doing it's best to keep up. I ordered a walbro gss340 pump, pulled the bed off the truck, swapped in the new pump, started it, and no change. The inline was still screaming at me and i couldn't hear the in tank pump at all. I checked all my fuses and they are all fine. I totally removed the inline pump and all wiring and when i turn the key, i get nothing. I put a volt meter on the harness that is on top of the pump assembly outside the tank and i get 12v on the grey wire and 5v on one of the other wires. I rechecked my wire connections going to the pump and they "look" fine.

After dealing with this for about 6hrs I decided to bring the truck to a local garage to let them figure it out. Another day and more money wasted. I hope to god it's something simple and cheap.
