Fuel Pump Problem
I just put in a new replacement fuel pump and I'm having troubles getting the motor to fire up. I think I have just about tried everything, but maybe someone else has an idea. I took out the old pump and put in the new one. I plugged in the 2 connectors and 3 tubes coming off of the top of the pump. When I try to fire it up, it turns over but it wont start. I'm not getting the ''whirring'' sound as if the pump is priming. I hot wired the pump and I can get it to make that famous noise. When you write a new tune or turn the key to the on position, usually you hear this noise. I do not however. I even tried putting in the old pump and it would again not start. No fuses have been blown. Everything appears to be getting power, but the pump will not prime. These are limited amounts of detail, but I really don't know what could possibly be wrong because it is so simple. Any assistance would be appreciated.

the fuel pump has a relay.... first things first.... turn the key to on, and have a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail... did you hoo the right hoses to the right places??? i know it sounds dumb but its happened...
check the relay first... i have seem people replace 4 pump modules thinking they were bad just to notice it was actually a bad relay

you can test it by getting a relay from a small auto parts store..... but asap get a gm one if that fixes it... because we have had major problems with cheap relays going bad quickly
