Hm, the top rings on my 6.0 have the dot. It's an 07 engine though, wonder if they changed it.

I've just recently started gapping rings for boost.....

But my 2005 L33 had no mark on the top rings, and the 2011 5.3 we recently did had no marks either.

If you buy new rings from GM, they do have the mark.
