Default Gas leak and car dies at idle

OK guys,

I've been smelling gas for quite a while near my truck (usually after I fill up). But I thought it was just me. Well today (immediately after putting a new water pump on) I fill up the truck, and I'm noticing that the idle is funny...then it starts to die intermittently.... now it's dying everytime I come to a stop. Well, when I get home, I look under the truck and see gas dripping right behind the driver's side door. After putting two and two together, I realize that the engine is not getting enough gas because of this leak.

My questions:
-Has anybody else experienced this and know what it could be?
-If anybody has, what was the problem with your truck?
-Was it an easy fix, or did you take it in?

could you locate exactly where the leak was coming from?

could be the fuel line connection right there at the top of the intake manifold.

I'll check it tomorrow. It was too dark for me to tell tonight. Hopefully, a fitting came loose or something. I'll take a picture tomorrow and post it.

Right behind the driver's side door? Sounds like the location of the fuel filter...maybe one of the fittings is leaking or one of the seams on the filter. Have you ever replaced it?

With the naked eye (looking upside down) it looks like it's before the fuel filter, but I started her up this morning and it seems like there's a slight spray, and the spray is coming down the gas tank, then dripping on the ground. I still have to get a better look at it. I want to know exactly what it is before I take it in so I don't get hosed.

Maybe one of the lines going to the top of the tank is cracked or has a bad o-ring, has anyone ever been in there to replace the sender or fuel pump and damaged something possibly? You might be able to see it if you crawl under there and get a flash light and mirror, and look for stains...
