Question gas mileage bad help!!!

well i just purchased a 2000 ecsb 4x4 5.3L 3.73 gears 3 inch body lift, 17 inch escalade rims, and 315/70/17 hummer tires.

im getting 9.2 mpg!!!!!!!!

this was all with city driving, and maybe 10-20 miles of 62 mph highway driving.

im starting to wonder if it has a 6.0L swap??

any ideas on what to do to get it up in the 15 mpg range would be appreciated.

actually a 6.0 swap will net a higher MPG, because the engine can move that beast easier. Do a tune up, get a TUNE (custom) that should help, Seriously though a 6.0 swap would help lol

first find out about your truck. what's in it and so on. Go to autozone or whereever your nearest parts store is and ask to have your codes checked. Any codes hiding? Is it driving like poo-poo? Are you just taking a gas receipt writing the mileage on it and then on the next one subtracting the mileage and dividing the gallons into the difference between those 2 mileage numbers?

ummmm ya well lets remember hes 3 inchs higher which increases drag...running escalade rims on hummer tires?.....that sounds like it weighs more then my whole truck, my opinion is ur 5.3l is moving alot of weight with ALOT of drag and ya i agree a 6.0l would help move more of that wieght through the sky....LOL my opinon? lose some weight or get a tune
