Default gas mileage decrease

i've been keeping track of my mileage for the last couple years and i have averaged at least 17-18 miles per gallon in the city. now recently probably within the past few months i have been getting around 15-16 miles per gallon and never getting above 16 mpg. i drive the same way every time, i don't speed and don't race at stop lights. any ideas what i could do to try and fix this problem? any maintance i could do? thanks.

Word. I had dropped to 13, changed the plugs and I'm back up to 15.5 now. I drive pretty hard. The copper core NGK's are only good for about a year, they run great but you got to keep them changed.

99 still had a fuel filter, change that bad boy if ya havent, under the drivers seat mounted on the frame rail. check your fuel pressure regulator to make sure its not leaking....tune up.....if your @ 100k+ then look @ changing the wires too..and seafoam always seems to help.....and the basics liek air filter, tire pressures, and fluids in the trans and front/rear diffs and t-case. normal maintenance stuff really....

Ok, I should clarify, no exactly under the drivers seat, but in that area under the truck on the inside of the frame rail. LOL>
