Default gas vs diesel, can i do it?

Im getting my truck back friday after swapping out my 93 5.7, has a 06 silvy ss 6.0, 4l80, 2800 stall, transgo shift kit and a custom tune. Truck is a 93, 4wd scsb. Im wonderin if y'all think i can out run my dads truck. Its a 04 ,4wd ccsb ,lly duramax. Has a diablo programer, k&n cai, aftermarket turbo inlet an outlet pipes there larger an supposed to flow more. and 4in exhaust. An if i can't im plannin on a cam n lt's around the new year. Thanks.

Diesels respond well to programmers. If he races you in 4hi your going to have a good race.

I think the duramax will win. Get your cam and it will be a closer race but he still may get you with a cam. thats if your dad drives like me and leaves the line at 2200 rpm around 12 pounds of boost. If he leaves soft around 1800 your truck will eat him up lly's are laggy on the bottom end

Nah you wont have a problem, I had an 06lbz with the hottest tune I could run with a stock trans. Youll pull him up top. Ive got an LQ4 in my truck and it feels better up top than my dmax but down low theyre close.

His truck pulls pretty damn hard an he makes good boost. Gm mechanic told him it made the most boost with a programer he had ever seen. I've never rode in a 6.0 powered truck before to kno what they pull like tho. Just hate to eat my words, been talking **** bout out runnin him lol. Hate to not back it up.

I'm with duramaxin14. I've raced a 4 door dully with a edge & only got him by a truck & half with him launching in 2wd with a little brake stall! If he would have done 4hi with more brake boost, I think it would have be a very close race!

about all you will see on a set of mechanical gauges is 28-32 psi. a tech two will show in the 40's reading off the ecm but it isnt true if your truck will run faster then a 14.2 in the quarter u will beat him. mine is a 2wd and back in my day with just a diablo i would run a 14.4@ 94 mph consitent keep in mine thats 2wd with 35 inch mud tires so traction was a issue i also had cold air intake and straight pipe
