Default Gear Help Please, Again

I removed my differential cover and found some interesting pieces of metal in there. It looks like I broke my posi unit and the pieces got stuck in the ring and pinion and those broke as well. Really frustrating. Now I have the choice whether to get 4.10's or stick with the 3.73's. I looked on Ebay and they have some package deals for a little over $500 which includes the Eaton posi, ring and pinion set, and rebuilt which includes bearings, seals, and shims. Here are one of the links and a pic of the pieces I pulled out of my rearend today.

My question is, Are Motive Gears high quality? How about Driveline Specialist gears? I heard aftermarket gears make noise? Myth or truth?

How about the gears, 4.10's and a radix a good combo?

I'd rather spend the extra money now and be done with it, then take a short cut and have to come back to it. Thanks for all your help in advance.

Stay away from Richmond gears and I have no comment on Motive but maybe someone else does. I would go for the 4.10 while you are at it though you might give some serious though to a rear end swap. You could hunt up a 9.5 inch 14 bolt semi floating rear axle that came with 6 lug hubs and used it several GM trucks that are a bolt in match for yours. It is a LOT stronger than a 10 bolt including any posi unit that you can put in because it is bigger too and over all it is a fairly bullet proof rear axle. Some will disagree with me but in my book that 10 bolt rear end has no bussiness under a 5000lb truck.

You can check here for some good parts and prices

P.S. Nice spider gear pics too!!

Default Made a decision, hopefully the right one!

well, I bought the parts to rebuild my rear end today. I talked to Brent at DriveTrain Specialist. He was really helpful and I would recommend him to anyone that needs rearend parts. I bought 3.73 OEM gears, Eaton posi, Master rebuild kit w/ bearings, and new axle bearings for a little less than $700.

Didn't go 4.10's because my 22's have low pro tires that are less than 30" and didn't want my truck to rev to high on the freeway. I got OEM gears because I was told that a lot of aftermarket gears make noise and aren't as strong as factory. Just wanted to let you guys know. Hopefully the install goes well.
