I agree that 4.10s are a nice overall gear. I would recommend them for a N/A application.

If you plan on drag racing with a 28" tall slicks, with a power adder (nitrous) and a converter, I would go with 3.73s or 3.90s.

With my current setup (TCI 3000 stall, 30.5" Toyos, 125shot), I am barley making it through the 1/4 mile on spray (top of 3rd gear). I would assume that with a shorter tire, I would probably run out of gearing.

Hope this helps.

I remember when pickups came with 29 to 30 inch tires and 4.10's which no overdrive. Even 29's with 4.10 and OD would not be a problem or a reason to get non standard 3.90's that has no native ECM support. I for ten would feel like abot a 2.85 axle ration in OD which is tall.

Sorry about that. I didn't realize they weren't available for all trucks.

I ran them in my 1500 5.3 Avalanche... I don't rememer the tire sizes off hand, but the truck felt very similar to this one.

4.10 is available in 1500's, but only 4x4/awd vehicles.
