Question Gen I and L98 Heads

I posted this in the Classic Section a couple days ago but I figure it'd get more responses here.

So my dad and I decided to start working on our 82 C10 again. It has been sitting up for about 4 years but we cranked it up and let it idle every couple weeks or so. Anyway, when we orignally built the truck I mismatched a lot of parts through ignorance. The cam it has in there is way too big and the truck doesn't run as it should. I don't even remember the specs on it.

Long story short, I have a set of iron L98 heads left over from a TBI project I ended up selling. The heads have some mild porting and polishing, a 3-angle valve job and some over-sized valves. I also had these crane valve springs thrown on there:

I'm trying to find a hydraulic flat tappet cam that would compliment the parts I already have on the truck. The truck has in it right now a holley 4150 750cfm secondary vaccum, Edelbrock Performer, long tubes and flowmasters, Hypertech high output HEI Distributor, going to TH400 with a B&M with a 2500 stall.

I'm trying to keep the budget minimal since this is just a toy I plan on driving on the weekends. I know I'll have to replace the intake manifold and I'm planning on using an Edelbrock Performer Air-Gap (2604)

My priorities with this cam are (in this order):

Compatibility
Street Manners
Torque
Lope (I love that sound)

Thanks for reading and any and all help!

Try a comp 268 with roller rockers. Slight choppy idle, but very streetable with the proposed stall.

I wouldn't used L-98 heads. They were good for there time but not anymore. Basic vortec heads are way better or even iron eagles if you wanna stay true to gen-1.
