Question Gen III cam swap -- things needed?

Hey guy's,

I finally got almost everything together for my cam swap, but need the required gaskets and such. I stumbled across a thread that had a GM part number for a kit that included everything needed, but now I can't find that thread.
Does anyone know the part number, or if there is such a thing?

Thanks in advance...

Tony C.

You might want to get water pump gaskets, but everything should be re-usable. They are either o-ring type, or they have a sealing ring built into the gasket. I just did a cam swap in my 04, and it's fairly easy. Make sure you have a new balancer bolt.

while your at it if you got the money id recommend a double roller set, hardend push rods, and springs if your cam kit doesnt already come with them... shouldnt cost you over $800 and a VERY good investment

a new balancer bolt is a must, I have reused all the other gaskets in the swap.

red RTV for replacing the cam cover, that cost me a night when I did mine.
I got a new crank bolt but it was not longer???
I agree about the cam swap kit, I only used the bolt, crank seal, water pump.
I resued the valve cover, cam cover and they came with intake gaskets that I did not use...

Thanks again...

I live 120 miles from the nearest Chevy dealership, so it's important to have everything needed before I start -- the local Napa usually has to "special" order stuff that they would not normally sell day to day.

I'll be sure to get beer.
