Default Get me to 13 seconds

Ok, I went to the track last night and only ran 14.764 @91.83 in 4WD. It was about 90deg out. I'm NOT happy. What is it gonna take to get me to low 13's without nitrous? The only thing i have that's not in my sig is a yank sc3000 stall converter.

I'm not sure what the SMC kit is in your sig. Do you have headers or exhaust? That would be a place to start. Smaller pulley for the Whipple, but that will run you into IAT problems without an intercooler. Maybe a good cam designed for boost.

Haha or you could strip a bunch of **** out of the truck.....

man i bet that truck weighs over 6000 pounds. some weight reduction would help out. a cam to suit the f/i will give some more time to. cold air intake? an intercooler will help out some as well. what exhaust do you have? headers? type fuel? 93? gears? 3.73 or 4.10's? and it is 90 degrees outside as well. heat is a killer. low 13's is going to be a chore but i think some of those things listed area good start.

is there some sort of budget?

I would think a stall, full exhaust and cam should put you well into the 13's
whats the full mod list?
Did you fix the tuning issues, I saw you had posted your stuff for sale dont give up man
YOU CAN DO IT!!!

or you can take the easy way out and get an f body slap the blower on it and skip over the 13's

Good run! post your slip in the HDFTL Sorry you didn't hit the 13's, better luck next time with some cooler weather.

Next friday is my next trackday, I'm also hoping for 13's, however, it's probably gonna be 90deg that day as well

I haven't had my truck tuned the way i want it yet. I'm trying to get down to Slowhawk at Dez (sponsor) to have him go thru it to tell me what's what.

I have a 10lb pulley on there now, the methanol is coming on at around 2psi and goes on full at 6psi. I do have a Yank SC3000 stall which I think is no better than stock. I didn't notice any difference. No intercooler, no cai, just a k/n filter. My Mac intake should be here soon.

No headers, Dynatech cats, Flowpro muffler. Also, I'm running Nitto Terra Grapplers 295/75/16 on stock rims. I think going back down to 265's would yeild better time too.

Running in 4wd felt weird. It really just felt like a dog. I'm certain I was getting some KR and that was retarding my timing, but, you aren't allowed to have a laptop in the vehicle while you run. Next time I think I'm gonna put the 8lb pulley back on and bump the timing back up to about 17deg.

we got away with it up there, put that laptop in, and scan that bitch. They didn't bother just, and he did 10 runs, or so. They looked at it every time. just tell them you're scanning the run, that's all. Hide it if you're nervous about it. But you gotta do, what you gotta do, to get your truck to run right.

Your time is right on track with your hp and weight. Just gotta work on making some more power and maybe some weight reduction.
If you go with a real good flowing exhaust that will really compliment the Whipple and help with detonation too(not much, but a little). Nice set of longtubes through a good high flow muffler like a Maganflow would help alot. I see your getting a CAI, so that will help some. I would also get some electric fans(good for about 10-15hp) Your idea of a smaller tire isnt bad either, I would stick with a tire no bigger than 29inches in diameter.
Plus I would wait till some cool weather to expect some better times. The heat hurts everyone, but our non intercooled Whipples hate the heat with a passion.
Considering you ran in hot temps and how much that thing weighs, you should not be dissapointed at all.
