ok great, this is exactly the kinda input i was looking for.
im going to build front the back to the front, cuz there's no reason having a badass motor in front of a stock differential and tranny; especially the ones that came in these trucks. ill be gradually building as i go and like i said, i hope to be there in the next 2 - 3 years.
im shooting for an STS system because its not such an eyesore under the hood... yes it is a large investment but it will be the icing on the cake for me. everyone does nitrous and i wanna do something different.
here's my rough draft for phase I (the basics) of mods:
custom tune
servos
LT's and exhaust
heavy-duty locker (ive heard the factory G80 units arent very stout)
tranny cooler
converter
cam, springs, & pushrods
*after phase I we'll see where i am and then i can figure out where else i wanna go with the truck

ok cool, yall are exactly right... i should set my goal for perhaps a 13.5 with bolt-ons then shoot for 12's with my power-adder (turbo or nitrous... or both )
ill do everything progressively, adding one component at a time and running down the track after each mod to show how each individual component affected my e/t's. first thing i need to do is run my truck down the track stock to find my starting point. then after my custom tune ill run it down the track again, and so on after each future mod.
