You all are amazing. You really know your stuff!!!

Budget is kinda up in the air right now. I might have the opportunity to buy a car that I've wanted for some time now (Countach), in which case the Burban would be up for sale. However, I think I'll get more enjoyment from the Suburban dollar-for-dollar... just something about being in a vehicle that can go fast AND off-road.

That 8.1 setup is awesome!!! I wasn't aware that engine would fit under a Burban's hood.

the 8.1L is optional in the 3/4T burbs you just can't get the 5spd allison you have to get the 4l80E. which doen't give you the gear ratios the 4l60e does.
I haven't run the burb @ the strip yet, keep meaning to go some weekend just never get there.
I might be close but I really need a converter to get out of the hole quicker. think a tt2600 or the converter out of the new GTO. right now nine stalls @ 1700-1800rpm and the motor comes alive above 2800 the 22's arent helping me out at all I gave up over an inch and a half rolling diameter they brought me down to a 3.52 gear vs. the stock 3.73's I am considering 4.10's to get back the snap. and its not a daily driver anymore so I can flex a little on mileage.

JET Stage 2 Performance Chip NO
K and N cold air intake YES or UPD
Gibson stainless headers IF longtubes YES
Gibson Swept Side Exhaust - Aluminized SURE
BBK Throttle Body - 80MM NO, just port the stock one
Granatelli Mass Airflow Sensor NO
Nitrous Express kit (can get a nice discount on NX) YES
Crane Cams Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator NO
Holley 50lbs/hr Fuel Injectors NO
Hypertech Low Temperature LS1 160° Powerstat YES

You need a bigger intank fuel pump possibly.

You need to be in at high 14's on motor to spray into the 13's I think without spraying a buttload of nawz.
If you are rolling around 29-30 inch tall tires I'd get at least a 3.73 gear.

I'd do a 2500-2800 stall.

I have an older L31 Tahoe but I hope for mid 14's on motor at some point and then I might spray it for fun. I went 16.3 bonestock but that was with a bad trans a 3.08 gears.

My Suburban came with 16" rims, which I swapped out for 17's with Michelins off a Denali. Even with that small of a diameter change I STILL noticed a small dumbing down of pep off the line.

I think I'll start out by getting shorter/higher performance tires, the 160 degree thermostat, port the stock throttle body and go with the cold air intake. That will buy me some time to decide on nitrous VS s/c. s/c will be more practivcal in the long run, but nitrous is just so controversial (especially on an SUV). I like being a little different
