Default Getting new truck *need help*

Recently i've been looking for a used car but my grandma decided that she wants to buy me a brand new Truck. Nothing used.

So i've been looking into trucks and like the gmc sierra out of any of the new trucks. I love to mod cars so i'll definitley be adding a few performance parts to it. But my question is which engine best reacts to modifications? Im also looking for a 2dr, no crew cab or 4dr.

My brother is telling me to get the 5.3L over the 4.8L but then im hearing people tell me to get the 2500HD 6.0L becuase they are the best ones to modify...

Anyways, hopefully someone can help me out.

There are plenty of mods for the 5.3 and the 6.0. I personally have a 99 1500 with the 5.3. I have done a few mods like exhause, intake, throttle body, headers, and power programmer. My best friend has a 2004 2500 with the 6.0. There is also a lot of mods available for that truck.

if you get the 2500 it will be a reg cab long bed, ext cab short bed, ext cab long bed, crew cab short bed or crew cab long bed.

on the 1500 you can get the reg cab short bed
personally i would get either a silverado ss, denali truck, or truck with vortec max motor - since they are 1500s with the 6.0l

the 6.0l responds better to boltons, but a reg cab is lighter in weight for more speed

yeah i think imma just stick with either a 4.8 or 5.3. Do they still make the stepside for the 1500 sierras?
