Getting sick of this!
I dont know if all 5.3s have a seperate belt to the AC compressor but I need some help.
I replace that belt every month, sometimes twice a month and just did it again today. NOT because it wears out at all, but because it snaps off I have no Air Conditioning untill I repalce it. The belts ~$13.00 and I have replaced it more than 15 times. Thats almost $200.00 in the last year !!!!!
I cant leave it anywhere due to the fact its my only mode of transportation.
And I have gotton so good at replacing them I have time myself right at 4 minutes and 30 sec. from start to finish. But I am sick and tired of doing it and was curious if anyone else has had this problem and how you corrected it. Thanks a lot by the way I apreciate all of yalls help.

I've never had a problem with mine either. Maybe your tensioner is bad or something.
I rarely ever use A/C though so it wouldn't be too big a deal to me.

Yeah my truck went about 120000 miles before it started happening.
I will definantly check my Pullies and the alignment of the crank pully and Ac pully.
If I cant fix it I will just order an underdrive pully and if that doesnt fix it then I will just keep replacing em' untill I can get a new truck.

Have a friend that had the exact problem you described. The problem was the seals on the a/c compressor leaked out most of the oil (the oil is used to lubricate and keep the compressor cool), and when in use it would get really hot and temporarily seize up. This is what breaks the belt. He replaced the compressor and all is well since then.

your problem is the A/c compressor clutch they do lock and snap the belt 
. You better of with a NEW comp. and do a yearly service this will help your system work better and last longer,specially inTexas heat
