I would think you could do 243 heads and Z06 manifold for about a grand... Those heads are a LOT cheaper than they used to be.

take a look at the current and next few Hot Rod magazine. They did a rocker arm swap (I think) along with headers tuning and something else) and didn't see a big difference between the truck, LS1 (worse), LS6 (equal) and LSX (better, but $$). I think the next one they are doing cam and head work like you were talking about.

Great! How about your idle pulley? Did you have to relocate it?

This is cool guys. Just an FYI here. I swapped an 07 (classic) 6.0, which has the new water pump, into my 01. I had the parts guy (who I know to be competent) look up a hose from an 07 classic 6.0 (same water pump as we have on this thread - with it coming straight out the side, no angle to the front) and he came up with this hose number 15274730. The hose 67SS509 originally listed is an 07NNBS-08 hose. He can't tell me what the difference is (doesn't look to be much by the price). He did confirm that the 07 classic and 08's have the same water pump, so I have to think either hose would work, with slight differences radiator point or bends.

Description for Part Number: 15274730
F-HOSE Your Price: $30.08 Core Charge: $0.00 List Price: $43.69

Description for Part Number: 19130027
HOSE Your Price: $29.95 Core Charge: $0.00 List Price: $43.49

19130027 is the number you need for the newer water pump! I just hooked mine up and it work perfect with the new pump!
