Whipple is prob. the most common supercharger used in marine applications. Merc has them equipped from the factory

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U9nYk3kcdg I think turbocharging a boat would be easy and better than a supercharger because it would mask the limits of the out drive. With a supercharger the power hits hard, with a turbo and a stiff spring in the wastegate the boost should come on slow.

What drive are you running. I think a 500hp supercharged motor would run better then a 500hp turbo motor. A turbo just doesnt seem that paractical. When the boat comes out of the water (which it will because of the speed your pushing with a turbo 350) you have to let off the throttle. Once the boat enters the water, youll be waiting for the turbo to spool back up to peak HP.
