No stronger than the ones in the Fbodies. The extra weight of the trucks actually makes them more prone to breaking stuff and wearing out clutches IMHO.
For a daily driver type truck that won't be abused the transmission is fine though.
Start increasing horsepower and driving like a maniac and it won't last long. It's just a 4L60E like the Fbodies. The 4L65E is slightly stronger but, only comes in 6.0L vehicles.
The 4L80E is a beast but, only comes in 2500+Heavy Duty trucks. It can be swapped in to a 1500 series truck without too much fuss though.

I'm over 100k on the stock tranny with 3000 stall since 65k and I drive like a maniac, a big cooler, regular fluid changes and a little bit of luck have gotten me this far. Just bolt on mods though on a 5.3.
