My setup has been there twice, but I've learned one thing. The bigger cam you put in it, the more head work you'll need.

My 216/220 cam with my 3800 converter ran an 8.3 (around 13.0-13.2) in cold weather with stock heads. I haven't had a chance to run the new setup, 228/228, in colder weather, but my best times have been around 8.5 (13.4-13.5) in summer heat. The heat/larger cam killed my low end and hurt my 60 ft. But this is where a good set of heads and higher compression come in. It's gonna help me get more low end power, as well as helping out the top end alot. I hope to hit 12s with the new setup + heads.

But I'd say a good proven set up would be around a 220 or 224 duration cam and a 3600+ converter with 4.10s and drag radials or slicks.

Thoughts on 3.73 gears a 220 cam with a 3000 converter stock heads for now.

I don't see that hitting low 13s. I think you'll need a looser converter to pull the 60ft needed

Who are you thinking of? Because the only guy with an ECSB 5.3 N/A running those times has heads as well.

yes, I'd say you'd see mid-high 12s if you spray out of the hole with traction
