Default New cam going in and have a few ?

I will be installing my cam in a few weeks and was wondering where the best place to get lifters from. Thunder told me to use the stock ones but I just feel its right to go ahead and change them. Also what about timming gears? Wondering if any one has them cheaper than $150? (kinda on a budget). Has any one tried the gears drives on our trucks?

Dude, knock on wood, but I would use the stock lifters. I got over 173K on mine and I don't have a problem yet (again knocking hard on that wood). Plus you have to pull the heads to get to the lifters and I hear the gasket and bolt set aren't that cheap. But to each his/her own...Zed

Oh well I just thought that at around 100k miles you can look forward to the timeing chain to be very lose and has a greater chance of breaking. I am at 63k and just though I might go ahead and change it while I'm there.
