80e would probably be best with the weight you will be pushing

Think about just saving face and getting the 4.10's?. And call Vince @ FLT, they're having a sale on transmissions.

Didn't feel like a waste when I outran a C6 ZO6 with my 5.3, but I'll agree it's not perfect. Spanked a harley BAD from a dig last night too fwiw. Those are definitely great kits though, can't go wrong with 'em or a TVS either.

I vote you build it all motor but if you must go FI I would go with a maggie, or a front mount turbo not a sts! Def. look into a quality tranny too, the stock 60e's dont hold much the 80e is bullet proof! just my .02

Why would a mechanic have problems "liking it up" in reference to an 80E???? Ya got me there... They're pretty much a straight swap with the exception of a little crosmember mod and swapping two wires I believe... If you have the cash now, do an 80. I wish I would have 7 4l60s ago...

Do what Tyler said...get a fully built 80E and forget that part of the equation for as long as you own/mopd your truck. Lvl 5 65E is still a 65E and will still break. That will leave you with 4-5K and you can buy Kyle's kit and have a turbo with a tranny to hold it.
STS ain't bad either...hell I have one!

I agree. go with Kbracing turbo setup. his price is good and work is quailty!!
then get a good trans or have a shop build yours. get yourselft HPTuners. that 10k will go fast...the minute you decide to go FI your budget is really trippled

Make sure that the tune is not too aggressive with FI or you'll end up like I did...doing it twice.
