The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
I went to the track last night. It was one of those days where nothing goes quite right (not as bad as really slow or redaddiction have had). Only changes since my last time of 13.13 in November are the Yank 3000 and a little different tune.
THE GOOD:
I cut a 1.76 60' on my first pass, down from a 1.92 last year.
THE BAD:
Low bottle pressure. I could only get it just over 900 psi. I just bought a 15lb bottle and had it filled. My heater couldn't handle the bigger bottle. ZEX heater! I was .15 faster at the 1/8th, but by the end of the run, the power wasn't there.
THE UGLY:
Only got in one run. A guy on a motorcycle lost it on the track and shut the place down for an hour, then 5 minutes later, someone puked fluids down the track. I ran a 13.08 @ 100, so I lost 2 mph due to the lack of power. I was running rich, so I was going to run the 150 nitrous jet and a 100 fuel but it never happened. I got up to the line, shot off a nice purge, then got swarmed by the track officials and was told to leave the track! I got kicked off! The only vehicle kicked out - a Z71 truck.
No 12 second slip for me

That's pretty lame. Do they tech that hard? Hell down hear at HRP, they guy hardly looks under the hood and has never asked me to lift the bed cover where the bottle was.

I kinda screwed myself. Usually they just put a number on me and wave me on. But they also sell race gas at the same spot. I bought a gallon of 104 octane and said something about nitrous. Then he turned into this hound looking all over my truck. 3 hours later, he was up at the lanes. I was pulling into the blocks, purged nicely, them I hear him yelling at me saying I wasn't gonna pull that **** on him and such. So had I not bought the 104, or said anything about nitrous, or not purged, I would have made it. Oh well.

Re: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
When I would take my Evil Ex-Girlfriends supercharged Honda to the track I would always get hell.
But, when I would take my 10 second GTO I would have a much easier time teching in, even thou I was runing soooo much faster.
The problem is trucks are slow and heavy. So when a slow and heavy truck rips of a 12 second pass it defies the laws of physics and all is not well with the universe.
Do not fret BigTex, the guy that kicked you off was just trying to save the universe from a big, heavy, 4x4, extendedcab truck from beating box stock corvetts. Its the same reason 'They' killed the Grand National. Its the same reason imports dont get much respect.

1/8th mile was a 8.1x. I knew I had a great start and all was running well. But just before the 1/8th, I felt a loss of power. I was racing a Cobra who ran a 12.8 @ 106 and I had a better ET than he did at the 1/8th mile mark.
My initial nitrous hit wasn't as hard as it usually is, so I know its the low pressure. My O2s were around .950s, so I know I was getting more fuel than nitrous.
I had a guy in a Lightning set up. We were paired up, near the front of the line and ready when all the delays happened. I could tell he knew something was wrong when a Excab Z71 was asking him for a race. Anyway, he pulled off and went home when I wasn't looking. Then I was going to spank this Dak R/T, but he ended up running by himself.

What a bunch of **** heads. At my local track, they don't even look under the hood. The only things they are strict about it 13 second cars wearing a helmet and making sure nothing is in the back of the truck that could blow out.

He ran up and stopped me as I was sitting at the tree! I had to back out of the box and leave.
