I don't have personal experience with the borlas, but i have heard that they are quieter than most other mufflers. If you want sound magnaflow or flowmaster.

well the xr-1 is there race muffler line thats y i figure it would be more free flowing and louder..il build my own exhuast from headers back with hi flow cats and crap that like that eventually..i was just suprised since the 5.3 is a ls1 based motor then y wouldnt i want to build a true dual for it like the tsp true dual setup? i want to do true duals and a shorty headers jst to make noise and im sure it would have a decent gain over all with that

their is a huge difference with cats and without. I can hear my stock cam now lope and change idle speeds. My wife started my truck in the garage yesterday morning and I was standing behind waiting to leave, I got a huge hit of bass and I felt it hit my chest and all I can say is oh my god. I am probably going to waiti to switch engines before I get a cam but we will see. I love my exhaust.

I love my XR-1. It is louder than my 40's ever were. Although price on the XR-1 wasnt cheap. But you get what you pay for. I like the tone of the XR-1 moreover Flows. I got more power out of my Borla cat-back than my Flowmasters got me too. Flows just dont do it for me. But you cant go wrong with the XR-1. It is not anywhere near quiet!!!
