i have a tr 220 on a 114 lsa and the truck runs great, installed it with ls6 springs, hardened push rods, and ls7 lifters. havent had any issues what so ever. with a 2800-3200 stall it moved out pretty good.

I'd go vinci trucker 216/224 on a 115. I have a buddy who just put one in an SSS about a year ago. it sounds awesome, drives awesome, and gave a solid bump in power EVERYWHERE. It even pulls decent off the line and he runs his stock converter. Tuning was a breeze and it idles very clean with a small amount of chop at 600 RPM.
If you plan to tow you need to be very careful about the converter you choose. Another great option would be a cam that truck flow offers which is a 216/220. Both are mild enough for LS6 valve springs will reduce your cost by a TON!
Put one of those cams in the 5.7 and you will be amazed how much stronger the mid range is compared to your 4.8. They will also help it breathe up top and carry out to about 6200 RPM or so, which in a daily driver you may tow with is plenty.

Thats another good option... but remember the LS2 is the same cam as the earlier LS6, which only made 385 horsepower... about 35 more than the LS1 in the vette. Those 35 horse came from the 243 heads, LS6 intake, and the cam... doesnt sound like the BEST option to me. If I was going to go with factory parts I would use the 03-04 LS6 cam which bumped that engine by about 20 HP, so it should wake up the LS1 some as well.
