Don't gen IV engines come with ls2 timing chain?

i thought anything after like 05 had a ls2 chain? i remember a thread awhile back about this.....

 

ah ok, interesting. thanks for that, im still learning about the gen4's i guess. i also didnt realize the dod lifters and ls7's werent the same length. i guess i need to

 

Yeah something about the LS7 lifter needing more preload or some bs im not for certain on it.

Im running a stock chain on my 5.3 and 6.2 i just swapped to the LS2 wedge vs the pos tensioner GM puts. 6800 with the 6.2 MANY times with no issues

 

so do you recomend using a stock timing chain??

 

the chain is the same as the one on my truck the new one is for ~50$

SO do you recomend changing the gear to a 3 bolt cam gear

what part number?

dampner? iknow the part number . change or not
