LQ4 6.0 engine-stock
Gibson shorty headers
2.5 inch dual exhaust into 2 magnaflows dumped
K&N FIPK
43lb/hr injectors
Whipple-10 psi boost
LT1 electric fans
New set up....431hp / 409tq
LQ4 6.0- still stock displacement(Forged pistons, arp head studs, mainstuds, rodbolts, stock rods and stock crank)
Comp cam 224/230 581/592 114lsa
Comp 918 springs and titanium retainers
Thunder racing pushrods
Comp cam lifters
Gibson shorty headers
2.5 inch dual exhaust into 2 magnaflows dumped
K&N FIPK
43lb/hr injectors
Whipple-6-7 psi boost
Removed electric fans and reinstalled stock fan clutch(plan to put electric fans back on in the near future)
I know alot of the stuff in the new engine doesnt do anything for power but makes it stronger, but I went ahead and listed everything anyway
Looks like the cam has got to be the biggest down fall in the power. Just to big for this setup???

Im definately no expert, but that cam doesnt look like a bad blower cam. I dont understand the loss in power. Did the previous 6.0 have a stock cam? If so than any decent cam with the blower shouldve made more power I would think. That just doesnt make sense to me. I would try a LPE GT2-3 and then a litte nitrous, youre built for it.

How much timing did he End up with ?
If you can get a Intercooler in the baby like Ryan has It will help tonnes
Run more timing with the intercooler then try to get a new pullie machined
I'm pretty sure you can get smaller ones for it they just don't advertise they have them
Call them up and be forward about it an tell them to sell ya one
Bottom line I bet that every psi of boost with be worth 15-20Hp I bet Depending on how hot things get
Didn't you have an Smc water injection kit ?

Hey Randy, so did you guys tune it on the dyno at Futral or just run it as it showed up? Do you have a diagnostic program to see what numbers you are flowing on the MAF?
Let the engine loosen up a little before you pound on it too much

I have an SMC alky kit, but didnt use it on either set up. I decided if I could get it tuned without using it I would. I dont trust it enought to HAVE to use it.
He did tune it on the dyno, so I know Allan got everything out of it he could.
Maybe that cam would be better for a centrifugal charger. I'm going to see what Allan suggest then go from there.

I'd swap cams, something close to stock. You're looking to make power inbetween the blowers power band, and possibly the Comp is trying to carry the power band out to far.
Your current camshaft has 48* of overlap @ .006 and doesn't reach a negative till about .050 where it has -1. So, its possible the overlap of the cam isn't helping.

Is it possible that your stock cam dyno numbers were skewed? We have similar setups and back when I had a stock 6 liter with the stock cam the best I dynoed was 373hp and that was with long tubes. That combo ran 7.99 in the 1/8th mile. Then I added a LS6 cam and TEA stg2 heads and it made 404hp. It ran 7.99 in the 1/8th again !! Now I have a stock 6 liter with the cam in my sig and it has ran a best of 7.91 in the 1/8th.
I think if you get the boost back to 10 psi you will see all the gains you are gonna see with that setup. You will probably hafta have a custom pulley machined, but it will be well worth it.

Next step may be another cam, or maybe geeting rid of the shorty headers and getting some long tubes, that may get my torque back up. This sound like a good plan???
