Got an LSXR intake free... now what?

Definitely not gonna sell it. Would be taking a giant disrespect **** in my friends face for giving it to me, not to mention I'm now stoked to do some more mods to the Silvy that I was kind of losing interest in. I'd probably never find another red one either...
And I've already got the TB intake on my Sierra so I'll be able to somewhat compare...
Why don't you go focus more on trying to sell your truck bed that's been in the classifieds for a year, haha.

Hey so I've finally rounded up about 99% of the parts that I think I need to begin installing this LSXR into my truck!
Basically includes:
- Nick Williams 102mm DBC throttle body
- GM OE f body throttle/cruise cable bracket (although need to find nuts to mount since lsxr isn't threaded)
- some 4.25" silicone hose couplers
- TSP 100mm MAF & conversion harness
- FAST 146021 OE style fuel rail kit (which I'm hoping fits with my 8.1 Marine Injectors)
- Wix 37737 C5 fuel filter/fpr
- Russell 3/8 to -6 male and female quick connect fittings and a short length of hose
- New FAST rope seal and main seals (reusing inner runner seals)
- Dirty Dingo idler pulley relocation bracket
- GM OE LS6 coolant crossover line & rear block off plugs (to replace my current line that connects all 4 corners)
- FAST button head valley cover bolts
- Dirty Dingo water pump spacer kit
- Katech vette belt tensioner
Still need to decide on water pump. Was considering a Meziere ewp, but probably can't swing it so now looking at just an f body stocker water pump...
Also have to figure out how to cut my upper radiator hose to fit lower neck.
Then have to grind off and paint my Alternator bracket.
And really no clue what to do with my sensors and what ports to use on the intake??
Seems it has more open ports than I'll need meaning I'll have to get some block off covers? Do those exist? I don't know what sensor goes on the rear of the intake, other than brake booster hose.
Anybody have any other tips or advice for a Gen III install?
Am I missing anything from that list that I'll need for complete install?

Post up some pics when said and done. i just purchased an older 92mm version at a price i couldnt pass up. Already have TB and everything to match with a 92mm plate. I think these intakes might suprise us lol. Also, have u looked into porting it? there are a few threads if u google how to port a fast intake. They are very easy and simple to do. Should almost double your gains from just an intake swap! could also port match it to your heads while your at it. Check it out!
O yeah your MAP sensor should plug into the back near the brake booster hose connection. Should keep everything simple and cleaner.

Huh OK yeah MAP on rear! Guess I forgot there was no port right on top! Thanks for setting that straight.
Also gotta figure out what to do with the huge harness cluster that's on top of the truck intakes... damn wiring.
And I've thought of port matching to heads but I want to get new heads eventually and port them to match the lsxr fuel injector area...
I doubt I'll port anything in the intake honestly, probably already has way more capacity than my engine will ever pull in its current state. Not to mention seeing just as many results showing these ported that show no gains, even some losses.
I did open up just the front port on my TBSS intake to match a 92mm throttle body for my Sierra and I liked the way that turned out.
I will most definitely post up some before and after photos as soon as I get started. Currently just a pile of parts in boxes!

Still need an 04+ style Body/GTO water pump, if anyone has a clean low mileage one up for grabs.
Also gonna have to figure out what length belt I need...

I already have a 160deg thermostat for the newer style that is the separate piece... or was that just for an 04+ housing, not the entire water pump...?
You know what I'm talking about, how the neck piece is either built in with the thermostat (older style), or two separate pieces (what I thought was 04+)

Alright, finally began some work on prepping things for the intake swap and a few other things...
Removed Alternator/PS pump bracket and cut off the little idler pulley ear that needs to be removed for TB clearance:
started off looking like this:
began cutting:
lopped off the first big chunk:
started smoothing it out to try to make it look unaltered after paint:
Gonna clean it up and paint it black tonight.

Engine began looking like this (after air intake removal and alternator/PS pump bracket removal):
Then popped the OE truck intake off:
Removed OE truck style water pump.
Also had to remove the coolant steam lines that were on there that connected all 4 corners of the heads since it won't fit under the LSXR. And swapped OE hex head valley cover bolts with button head allen bolts.:
Also replaced my leaking power steering pump:
Here's what she looks like now with the new take off GTO water pump + Dirty Dingo water pump spacer kit and Katech F-body solid belt tensioner.
Had to cut off ~5" from my upper radiator hose so it would reach down to the lower neck. Looks better than I expected it too actually, just glad it didn't kink and send me on a search for some obscure hose to fit.
REALLY do NOT know what I'll do with my wiring harness. No way I'm going through the whole thing and lengthening each wire.
Also kind of disappointed about having to run my EVAP thing to the front of the LSXR. Might look a little goofy...
Still have to drill holes in the shells for the MAP and EVAP.
