Thumbs up Got my HPtuners today

My HPtuners showed up today, I like it so far. I have never used a tuning program before, so I need to do a little research before I get to crazy.

I wish I could have bought this last year, then I wouldn't have a $400+ paper weight (Predator). I did have to buy a notebook computer to run it on($1800cdn).

Should I start tuning off the factory tune, or predator?

Anyone have any tips for tuning a cam?

For a start you could download both tunes and compare the two files to see what the Predator did and where it did it at.

Nice! I'm ordering as soon as I hear back about some medical bills. Hopefully tomorrow morning.

I'm a little intimidated about some of the tuning parameters especially the L/S-TFT's and how much timing to throw at it. And where. I'm borderline retarded when it comes to working with Excel, so that should be fun too.

I've seen cam tuning tips on the HP Tuners message board, and up here in the PCM tuning section. You might have to dig a little bit here.

I saw a real good writeup on how to do a real basic tune. I managed to loose it. I think it was at 'another' ls1 site, or maybe one of those tuning-specific sites.

AWESOME!!! Definitely let us know how you like it and how you like the logging part too. LS1edit has held the market for a long time...it is good to have some competition now.
Happy tuning

Total came to low 500's... like, $509.00 or something.

Mine should be in early next week.

Anyone else running it in their '03+ trucks?

I'll be keeping my eye on this thread since I'm looking to buy edit or HPtuners at some point.

Did you ever find that article/site that showed you how to tune? I am also getting Ls1 Edit and would like to have some help!
