Default got my new adjustable timing chain in, now what?

Its adjustable to +4 to -4. So would it be better to advance it or retard it? I'm not real clear in this area. Which would give me any HP gains, if any?

Its on a 113LSA now if that helps any.

Thanks,
Ron

What are you trying to accomplish? Generally, advancing a cam will give you more bottem end power. Conversely, retarding a cam gives you more top end. However, you sacrafice a little power in the opposite end when you move cam timing around.

Generally, it is best to follow the cam mfg instructions on the installation.

LSA is ground in the cam and cannot be changed. What is the recommended centerline? That is what you should install it at.

Thanks for the info. I still dont have a stall so im as fast as a ricer off the line, only getting 2.1-2.2s in the 60'. I am thinking about advancing it to get off the line better till i get a stall in. I dont want to get up to the line sounding all mean, and wind up runnind as slow as a Hemi. j/k lol.
