Default Got a question

got a friend that is wanting to try out a cam but doesnt know how it will act in his 4.8L

it's a Lunati cam
specs are:::::
HYDRAULIC ROLLER: Good Pro-Street cam with choppy idle. Engine modifications required (valve spring). 2500-6000 287°
298° 222°
230° .534"
.544" .314"
.320" 114° Sep
110° Int C/L 01°BTC 41°ABC /
53°BBC -3°ATC
anybody got any Ideas????????
or should I try and post this in the internal motor section, and get razzed about, it.? I need answers, and not commits about go buy a bigger motor..

in a 4.8, that will make for a real high revving machine. on the other hand it's going to need alot of converter and will idle terribly without much vacuum.

for somebody that knows what thier looking at it is everything they need to know.

thanks for the imput
I hadnt heard anybody with this cam, and didnt quite know what to think of it.
I was also thinking it would need a high stall, but didnt know what the divability issues would be like.....

222/230 .534/.344 114+4... That seems like a lot of duration for a 4.8 but the low lift numbers make me think that the lobes may be fairly mild. It has a good lsa and advance to keep the power down some but he is definately going to need a good bit of converter to make good times with it.

Yeah, the ramps look to be on the slower side. I think he'll be better off with your cam if he wants to be in that range of duration. (Maybe point him to TSP if you don't want any clones in your area.
