Question Got a question about the A/C

when I start my truck up in the after noons at work. ( mind you it has been getting pretty hot here lately, and my truck is black ) the A/C when turned on blows super hot air for about 2-3 minutes. Is this normal or is something not right. Every other black vehicle( which is the only color I have ever owned ) that I have had didnt do this. does my system need to be recharged?
what gives?
Thanks,
Daniel

Mine does it too, I think it is because the air ducts are hot and they need to cool off.

Mine does it, but not for 2-3 minutes. More like 15 seconds at the most before it starts to cool off.

It depends on how hot it is inside your truck. I've seen temps of 135+ in the summer time sun. If it cools real good after you drive it for awhile then it is probally working fine.

Oh yea, and if you have it on recirc, your just recycling 90% of the hot air in the truck.

Mine has been doing that lately too. I think I might have my mechanic check it out, just in case. I drove my mom's 2000 and her's wouldn't cool down, had to drop it off at the mechanics.

Mine blows hot for just a few seconds when I first fire it up but 2-3 minutes is not right. Greg make is right about the recirc. I normally leave mine on fresh and crack the windows when I first start going to suck some of the hot air out of the cab. Try that and if it still blows hot, you may want to have it checked out.
Oh, and make sure the temp *** is turned all the way counter clockwise, in the blue.

whaahahha
hell if i turned it any more it would be blowing snow out, if it worked right
I'm thinking it might be what was suggested about the ac duct soaking up the heat, cause I parked it under an awning(sp) today at work and it didnt take nearly as long as it did the other day.
